We’ve now heard from four guests that their wedding invitations never arrived. This sucks. They were awesome. Probably we will post photos soon.

In the meantime… if you received a Save the Date postcard earlier this year, but have not received a wedding invitation in the past few weeks? Please, please reach out and contact us.

Yep, that’s right. If you have not dropped your RSVP postcard in the mail, please do it as soon as you can. We even put a stamp on it for you! Just drop it in the mail!

Don’t make us call you. We totally will do that.

You guys, today officially marks less than one month till the Team Awesome wedding!

A few notes about booking your hotel.

1. For some reason, we put “book by August 15″ on the invitation. I honestly can’t remember why. I can only assume it was some sort of placeholder number we overlooked in the editing/proofreading/finalizing frenzy before the invitations went to print. ANYWAY, the Hyman/Huertas hotel block is still in effect. I just spoke to the sales agent yesterday – there were just 6 rooms left but I had her add another 5 onto that.

If you want to book a room and the hotel says the block is no longer in effect, LET US KNOW. We can fix that!

2. We are providing a shuttle from the hotel to the venue and back. Just FYI.

3. The venue kicks us out at 10 p.m., so we are totally planning to have an afterhours at the hotel. Another FYI.

4. I believe they told us that our room is on the 8th floor. There’s no real compelling reason to be near us other than it’s convenient and nice, so if you want to mention 8th floor on check-in, that might not be a bad idea.

5. All that being said, of course, you can stay in whatever hotel you want. Just wanted you guys to have all the information before making your decision.

6. Several people have approached us about splitting rooms, and we’re keeping a running list. If you don’t mind splitting a room, let me know before you book and I’ll see if I can find a good match for you. Might save you a few bucks. Plus, new friends!

7. Our buddy Bob Lodise said he got a better rate booking using his AAA membership, rather than using the Hyman/Huertas block. If you have the option, you might want to try it. We are all about saving YOU money.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO OUT OF TOWN GUESTS:
The hotel is about 45 minutes from the airport. I can’t take on coordinating everyone’s transportation, but if you want to forward me your itinerary once you have booked your flights, I’ll see if anyone with a vehicle is making an airport run near when you arrive. Is it just us, or is 2009 completely flying by? The good news is that we seem to be on track with the planning. Nearly everything that isn’t already finished is at least in the works, and we’re headed up to Pittsburgh next weekend to meet with our parents and a few other key family members to really start crossing more things off of the list. (Food! Flowers! Centerpieces! Huzzah!)

You’ll notice before long that our web site is going to look different, to match the Save the Date cards that went out a couple of months ago. Our excellent groomsman Chuck is working on a redesign that’s going to be really pretty.

We think our favorite part of this whole process is the way our amazingly talented friends and relatives have offered said talents, to help us pull this party together. From ceremony music to winemaking to invitations to cake to videography, people we love very much have generously stepped up, and every time it’s happened, we’re reminded again how lucky we are to know (and be related to!) such gifted people. We’ll post a complete breakdown of who did what closer to (or right after) the big event.

Updates!

We have added weddingy information under “Contact Us,” “Hotel Information,” “Stuff to do in the ‘Burgh,” and “The Place, The Plan.” We will get to “The Wedding Party” soon, just need time to find the most incriminating photos on the web.
